Mandatory requirements for Va. equine events
Virginia Regulation 2VAC5-70-20 (Testing Requirements for horses exhibited at shows, fairs or other exhibitions in Virginia) states that all horses assembled at a show, fair, rodeo, trail and endurance rides, parades, wagon trains, team roping and penning, horse pull, etc. in Virginia shall be accompanied by a report of an official negative test for Equine Infectious Anemia (Coggins) conducted within twelve (12) months prior to such events.
Any equine brought to The Meadow Event Park without a current Coggins test, regardless of why it is there, will be refused entry. No exceptions.
Horses coming to the State Fair of Virginia from a state other than Virginia require a Health Paper or certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) for legal entry, along with negative Coggins papers. No exceptions.
