General Information

Guest Accessibility

There are lots of ways to experience the State Fair of Virginia, and guests’ comfort and convenience are a priority.

The State Fair is listed among Central Virginia venues on Accessible Virginia’s website.

Handicap parking

The Meadow Event Park has ample handicap parking for authorized users.

Take the tram!

Parking lot trams can help you get to and from your vehicle in general-parking Lots A and C. Look for the Ford “Tram Stops” designated with small tents and flags.

Wheelchair & stroller rental

Guests can rent strollers, motorized scooters and wheelchairs outside the Ticket Plaza. These are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved. Rental prices are as follows:

Manual Wheelchairs
$15 for all day rental

Electric Mobility Scooters
$25 for 4 hours
$40 for 8 hours
$50 for all day rental

$10 for all day stroller rental
$15 for all day double stroller rental

You’re also welcome to bring your own stroller, wheelchair or scooter, and there are scooter battery recharging stations strategically located on the property.

Guests bringing small children also may bring a wagon.

Navigating the terrain

Much of the property at The Meadow Event Park is level and paved. Some areas have a gravel surface, and show rings and their immediate surroundings are a sand/clay mix. One pedestrian path that winds behind Meadow Hall in the Harvest Landing area has a gradual slope.

Attractions access

Bleacher seating and room for wheelchairs is available for grounds attractions and equine and livestock events.

Guest shuttles

Once you travel from the Ticket Plaza through the tunnel under Route 30, you can use guest service carts to travel easily between stops designated on the State Fair Map.

Restrooms are clearly marked and wheelchair-accessible. There are two family restrooms in the Farm Bureau Center exhibition hall.

Nursing Mom Station

A private area for nursing mothers is available in the family restrooms in Farm Bureau Center and in Bon Secours’ Farm Bureau Center booth.

Lost Child Center

The Lost Child Center is located in the State Fair Office to the left when exiting the tunnel near Festival Loop. Remind your child to find a uniformed officer if he or she becomes separated from you.

Guests may acquire child security wristbands from fair volunteers near the Ticket Plaza and at the First Aid Center, the Lost Child Center and the Public Safety Operations Center. Write your name and cell phone number on the inside of the band, and place it on your child’s wrist. Please do not write your child’s name anywhere on the band!

First Aid Center

This is located near the Midway entrance.

Lost & Found

Lost & Found is located in the Bold Ruler House in Lot C. Please enter through Gate 6 to access the building; paid fair admission is not needed to gain access to the Bold Ruler House. Lost & Found is open during regular operating hours each day of the fair, Sept. 23 through Oct. 2. All items that are not claimed by Oct. 3 will be turned over to The Meadow Event Park. For more information call 804-994-2800.

What if I need to go to my car and come back?

Visitors who buy a ticket and then want to leave and return to the fair on the same day have that option. Be sure to get your hand stamped before exiting if you plan to return that same day. No re-entry after 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
