Sept. 22 is last day to buy money-saving advance tickets
(DOSWELL, September 19, 2016)—Fairgoers have only a few more days to purchase advance tickets to the State Fair of Virginia.
Streamlined visits to the State Fair begin with advance tickets, which save fairgoers time and money. They can be purchased at StateFairVa.org and at participating Walgreens locations in Virginia through 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 22. The fair Ticket Plaza will feature a new express lane specifically for anyone who has purchased an advance ticket.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth 5-12 and seniors 60 and older. They can be used any day during the fair. Children 4 and younger will be admitted free. Season passes are available online for $40 through Sept. 20.
The new advance-purchase combo ticket—good for a specific Saturday or a Sunday—includes an up-close parking space and quicker access to all the fun. A limited number of combo tickets will be sold online for $25 and will include one adult admission and parking near Harvest Landing on the north side of state Route 30. Other vehicle occupants must have advance admission tickets as well.
On Sept. 23, fairgoers will have another chance to save when they donate five cans of Food Lion branded products for Food Lion Hunger Relief Day. Each customer who donates will receive a coupon good for $5 off the $15 adult admission or the $11 youth and senior admission. All donated food will benefit FeedMore.
Rides are not included in fair admission, but ticket-buyers can save $5 online and at participating Walgreens through Sept. 22 on advance-purchase vouchers for Unlimited Ride Wristbands. Advance wristbands are $20.
Additionally, Richmond-area Food Lion stores are offering coupons good for $5 off the purchase of a weekday Unlimited Ride Wristband, good Monday through Friday.
This year’s State Fair of Virginia will run from Sept. 23 through Oct. 2.
The State Fair is held each fall at its permanent home at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. The fair’s mission is to increase agricultural and natural resource awareness and interest through educational programs, exhibitions and competitions in a fun, family-friendly setting.
